This started as a 365 day-by-day blog of my life in Boston as a 2nd year transplant from May 2010- May 2011. I continued into my 3rd year before one of my New Year's Resolutions was to make something new each week. So I blogged about my dishes with photos. Now, another resolution has brought me back to blogging. In March 2014 I plan on spending only $45 which can only go towards food/beverages. Stay tuned to see how I do.

Fail!
Today was a nice rainy day. It was warm, but not too muggy. I wore a dress, a cordoroy light jacket and flip flops. It really came down during the evening commute and that is where I learned today's lesson, brought to you by the letter "R" [for rain]. Flip flops may seem like a good choice in footwear when its raining on a summer day, however, when the roads have tons of puddles and it's pouring, you have a hard time walking. [My reasoning for wearing flip flops today was this: I wear flip flops to the beach, river, pool, Sea World and other places that are "wet", so since it's a summer rainshower, why wear rain boots?] There was a time while I was walking to the bus stop when my right flip flop flew off my foot a good 3 feet in front of me. Just slid right off my foot. Then, this cheap umbrella failed me. It's so broken, but it did keep my head dry (for the most part). I might has well just worn a shower cap, lol. So, to recap, flip flops and cheap umbrellas don't mix well with rain.
