Today I got in the kiddie pool with the babies. It was another hot day and the fly problem is really annoying here. These mo' fo's bite! We couldn't play outside too long unless we were in the pool b/c those damn flies won't leave us alone. It was refreshing sitting in the pool splashing the babies and getting splashed back.
For lunch I cooked one of my favorite dishes... fried green tomatoes! They don't sell green tomatoes in Boston (at least I haven't found any), so I was in heaven when I saw them at the commissary. My best friend back home introduced them to me in Cali and it's such a rare dish that I truly savor them whenever I get to make them. Whenever I have food my niece always wants a bite, so I shared my fried green tomatoes with her, which she loved! Got to love the South and their food (even if I can't eat most of what they cook)!
