Canoeing

Shop til I drop...dropped about 3pm. Me and my BBFF went to Ocean State Job Lot (like a Big Lots), DSW, Dollar Tree, Ikea, Christmas Tree Shop, and Costco today before me and my other friend Megan went canoeing. I bought so much liquor at Costco, finally found a pair of red high heels and silver slipper heels (which I've been looking for for 2 years now) anyway, I am all shopped out! No sectional, but that can wait. OMG, I don't even want to know how much money I spent this weekend!! Needless to say, the Bostonian Transplant will not be shopping anytime soon and will definitely be throwing a party in September and October!

I've never been canoeing and I've learned I do have more fears in life besides dying during labor and falling to my death. I get nervous on water. I remember when my brother in law tried to sink the boat in the bayou in Texas and I so didn't want to sink when there were water snakes swimming by nor did I want the boat to flip. Which was what I was worried about today; I was so afraid the canoe would tip. We were given no instructions, just climbed into the canoe and we started to paddle. It was overcast, but comfortable. We came to this area where my paddle was hitting sand and I started to freak thinking we would get stuck in the sandbar (do they call it that when your in the river??). Megan reassured me we would be fine, but I wasn't able to relax until we crossed over it safely. So, I have a fear of being stuck in the water or falling into yucky water (ocean, river, pond, lake, etc.). We figured we canoed about 4-5 miles in the 2.5 hours we were out on the Charles River in Newton. My shoulders are so sore! It was peaceful and now after taking a nice warm bath, I hope to sleep well tonight.
