It was a cold and blustery day today. I am so thankful the MBTA as an app to show real time bus schedules. It was -2° out when I went to catch the bus this morning and timed it so I only waited a minute before getting on the bus. With windchill factored in, it was -15°. If you were out for longer than 10 minutes, they said your uncovered areas would be at risk for frost bite. It has been below freezing for a while, but this below zero is beyond cold. I've never been out in the weather this cold EVER. I learned that fashion goes out the window when it's this cold. And the inner child in me so wanted to spit to see if it would freeze, but was told it would freeze after hitting the ground but not right away because it would be too warm. Maybe I'll try a cup of water thrown in the air like all the newscasts are showing. A blouse, a vest, a hoodie sweatshirt, my down coat with the hood, my hat that covers ears, gloves, boots, thick socks, and a scarf to put over my mouth and nose. I was still cold, especially when I got into work and found that the circuit our heater is on keeps kicking off, so I was frozen all day long. Opted out of going to the gym today b/c I didn't want to deal with drying everything off before making the walk back to work. I am not complaining b/c this is an experience, a new experience which will prepare me for when I finally save enough money to go to Antarctica.
This started as a 365 day-by-day blog of my life in Boston as a 2nd year transplant from May 2010- May 2011. I continued into my 3rd year before one of my New Year's Resolutions was to make something new each week. So I blogged about my dishes with photos. Now, another resolution has brought me back to blogging. In March 2014 I plan on spending only $45 which can only go towards food/beverages. Stay tuned to see how I do.
