Chinatown

Today was a long day. It started with me waking up in what felt like the summer, sweaty as hell. It was 80° in my apartment- the heater wasn't working right and I had to open all the windows and doors and change into shorts and a tank top to keep myself from overheating. It was 40° cooler outside and I am glad I spent all day out of the apartment. It did remind me of what's to come in 3-4 months and made me thankful for buying an AC unit.

Went into Somerville for an Irish craft fair and bought some homemade soda bread. I had Indian food at Diva before heading into Boston to see The Adjustment Bureau. Of course the movie time was sold out, so after buying tickets for the next showing, I took a tour through Chinatown, and this time on purpose. I am known for stumbling into Chinatown while trying to get to my destination (which never call for passing through that neighborhood, always taking the longer route and getting turned around) but not tonight. For the first time I saw the gate that marks the start of Chinatown and petted the lion that's in front of the gate, talked in a Chinese phone booth, wandered into a Chinese store where they sell carrots on steroids and had a coconut shake with bubbles. Those bubbles are interesting.

Loved The Adjustment Bureau! It had a little bit of everything and never lost interest.
