Today was a wonderful day. Had lunch with a couple friends at the Savant Project. We went b/c I really wanted some polenta logs, but they no longer have them :( The waiter said they just re-vamped their menu. I was quite sad, but after a pumpkin ale, I was fine, especially after I was told that they had polenta lasagna and so I had that (which was delicious). We also ordered some Yucca fries and got some free dumplings. We also were served free fried twinkies for dessert. Not a fan of those, but now I can say I've tried fried twinkies. It was a little over an hour and a half lunch, but it was a slow workday, so it didn't bother me.
It was a frigid day here (in the high 40s all day) in Boston, so tonight when I went out to my last birthday celebration for the month of October, I had to bust out one of my winter coats. Howl at the Moon, Boston's only dueling piano bar, was a lot of fun. We got there at 7:30 and stood in line for 30 minutes before getting in. I ordered food and drinks...including this Hurricane bucket (which I shared with birthday girl and 12 others). When the check came, I found out that the waitress didn't charge me for the bucket (maybe b/c she screwed up our food order and served cold food) but whatever, it was a good day for me getting free stuff, something that never happens. I think I'm done drinking for the weekend; I need to give my liver a rest. Thank goodness I am done with October birthday celebrations b/c I am exhausted!
